A major part of the blue manatee press mission is to create and distribute excellent children’s books that convey important, evidence-based health information for families of infants and young children in a readable, nurturing way.  

Led by a pediatrician whose research has helped understand how shared reading and screen time impact skills, relationships and early brain development, and using children's books to convey health and parenting information, we are truly, "a press with purpose." We seek partnerships with public libraries, health organizations, hospitals, literacy programs, agencies and other non-profit groups, to help ensure that the story for all children is happy and healthy. All About Books provides free shipping, excellent service, and orders in less-than carton quantity (though cartons earn extra discount).

Board books are between $2.50 and $3.00 per copy and picture books are between $5.00 and $10.00 per copy.

Phone orders are not possible at this time due to staffing constraints, though voice mails are welcome and will be returned as quickly as possible.

Payment is required within 15 days of placing an order and may be via eCheck/ACH (preferred) or credit card using a secure payment link that will be emailed to you. Physical checks are accepted yet may delay payment processing. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

A helpful tip when placing orders:

In order for us to offer you the lowest pricing and the highest quality of service, please order in carton quantity whenever possible. If you do not order carton quantities, minimum shipping charge and additional handling fees may apply. For example, most board books should be ordered in quantities of 60 copies.

For large bulk orders of 1,200 copies or more, please contact us directly for stock availability and ordering information.

Shipping rate of 14% applies to contiguous US only. It does not apply to orders to Hawaii, Alaska, outside of the US, or bulk orders 1,200 copies or more.
