Have you read our board book Walter’s Wheels by Noelle Dingeldein?

It’s all about Walter the cat and his imaginative adventures, exploring cars, trucks, trains and more! Author and artist Noelle Dingeldein created the images using a home-made colorful clay!

Which got us thinking—now that summer’s starting up, we want to be crafting as much as we can! Creative play is important!

Inspired by Noelle’s creativity, we used our own imagination to create a colorful clay day!

First, we chose a few pieces of colorful construction paper as our background!

Then we got out our clays and decided on which colors we wanted to work with!

Once we had everything we wanted, we got to work!

Here’s a tip: We used a mechanical pencil without the lead to trace our flower shapes, so we didn’t use any sharp points!

Until we finally had our sunny scene!
